Byte-Size Explorers: Journey into Computational Thinking for Young Learners / Summer 2025
Full course description
In a world where technology is a part of everyday life, the need for computational thinking (CT) skills is more pronounced than ever before. As educators, you are at the forefront of preparing the next generation for success in an increasingly digital world. This educational PD is designed to empower educators of preschool and pre-k children, ages 3-5, to cultivate computational thinking skills through engaging, unplugged activities. It simply intended to give you a jumpstart on your computational thinking (CT) journey with early learners. By integrating computational thinking into early childhood education, you not only foster intellectual growth but also lay the groundwork for essential life skills. Even more exciting is that computational thinking (CT) goes hand-in-hand with the development of social-emotional skills. Through collaborative problem-solving and creative exploration, children learn invaluable lessons in teamwork, resilience, and empathy. This PD encourages you to take initiative and make decisions, recognizing that every learning environment is unique, and every educator brings their own expertise and creativity to the table. Together, let's lay the groundwork for a future where every child has the tools they need to thrive in the digital age and beyond. (1 CPD)
